My first trip to Marseille!
Many people in Aix have told me that Marseille is a beautiful city and their favorite city in France. It's the 2nd biggest city in France too! So I was really really looking forward to going and seeing the port, etc.
Naomi, Linda, Maryska, George (Linda's friend from high school) and I all went together. We took the bus from the gare routiere (one-way: 4.6 euros) and it took about 40-50 minutes to get there. You can buy the student pass for 5 euros, and then it's only a euro one-way on the weekends! pretty sweet deal, eh? I should go get mine soon.
It was so freaking cold and windy in Marseille. Weeeeeeeee! Not fun.
Marseille was interesting. It was not as glamorous as I thought it would be either. There are so many nice shops there, so you expect it to be a nice posh city, but it was actually really run down. I felt like I was in china town--not that there is anything wrong with that. lol.
There was a pretty intense hill, so I took a picture of it.
We walked down the hill to go to the Musee Cantini! Naomi found it in one of her south of france books, and it was amazing! Love love LOVED it!
First thing I saw when I walked in that was screaming ANLI!!!!

Then this gong-type thing:
Cute eyeballs:
Sometimes how I feel. For real:
Ummm....
SEXY woman. SO HOT. The colors are sooo beautiful too!

Super fun medallion:

This reminded me of a Korean lady ghost (called gwee-shin):
Love the Chagall. Always.:

More Fun:
Le (Vieux) Port de Marseille.
Same subject, but look how different they are:
My favorite piece at the museum (besides the Chagall) :

L'entree du port de Marseille, 1918.
Paul Signac.

I loved it sooo much I just wanted to take it off the wall and take it back home with me.
So beautiful. Speechless.

I saw your Signac and I thought it was a Seurat at first. I was close, since they were contemporaries.
