Susan in Aix-en-Provence: Cafe L'Unic

One of my favorite activities in Aix: Going to L'Unic.

Shortly after arriving in Aix, Alex and Amy discovered a cafe that they liked.

It was really because they thought the servers were cute--which is definitely true--but I really liked they location of the cafe and how it wasn't too big.

The first time I went, I bought a couple of postcards to write, and started writing for a little bit. It was really nice to just be able to chill and relax.

On this day (1.25.08), I wrote postcards to my parents, my sister & young, and Dan.

I'm too lazy to write postcards all the time (and they are def. a bit pricey too once with the postcard and postage) but I really need to start writing more, because I promised so many people that I would.

I promise I will once the weather gets nicer--I hate sending postcards that aren't from the same season :/

After getting to know the servers, I just really enjoy going to L'Unic a couple of times a week. ( I can't go too often due to my limited allowance. lol.)

The main servers are Jerome and Florian. (although Florian just quit :/)

At first, I would always get different types of hot chocolate, but now I am branching out and exploring the mixed drinks that they have.

So far, I really like the Irish coffee (wish it wasn't 8 euros) and the margarite. The mojito was okay. I really want to try the Monaco--it's some red syrup (maybe strawberry? I forget!), lemonade, and a French beer called 1664. It seems to be very popular, so next time I will be trying that one for sure!

Their happy hours is till 11pm, which is pretty sweeet! I should take advantage of that more :P lol.

One Friday (Feb. 1) I babysat for these two French kids because Maggie couldn't babysit that night. They were SUPER adorable. I am really hoping that I will get to babysit them again some time, because I really really enjoyed their company :)

They had a super cute cat too! When I was leaving, they gave me hugs and kisses and it made me all warmz inside and also made me realize how much I really miss kids and like kids. lol.

After babysitting, I headed over to Unic to meet up with Alex. I took some photos of Aix on my way to the cafe. There was a super tiny cute cafe that I really really liked. hehe. It was just way too cute! Aix at night:
