February Activities in Aix

February was an action-packed month, for sure.

The first week I was incredibly busy making truffles..I got way too carried away and way too ambitious...Indeed, a bad combination.

I thought it would be an afternoon affair, but it ended up taking me 4 days. And by 4 days, I really mean 4 FULL days. The end result: Amazing! I was very satisfied and my hard work paid off!

6 fabulous flavors in a cute box for everyone! I really surprised my sister and that made me really happy. My mom LOVED them too, so I felt like a super awesome daughter! hehe

Thanks to the Connor who gave me the fabulous recipe: Strawberry balsamic. It didn't sound that hot but it was a huge hit. Loved it!

On Feb. 8th, there was a lecture at the IEP that I attended.
The speaker was M. Patrick Artus, the director of NATIXIS. He talked about what we learned from the financial crisis in 2007.

It was definitely a really interesting lecture and I got to talk to him afterwards which was pretty sweet to.

My international economics professor, M. Cartapanis put the lecture together, and he even encouraged me to ask questions! I was super touched by the fact that the man even remembered me! lol. Anyway, it was a cool experience.

Afterwards, I went to L'Unic to meet up with Alex. I had an Irish Coffee and it was mad strong. wooooo. almost got drunk there. lol. I had to later ask for more cafe and cream in it. Overall, it was pretty good :)

The cup says Irish Coffee, which I think is pretty funny.

The following week (week of 11th), classes started at the Fac. Wellesley classes have already started on Jan. 28th, but now the real French kids' classes started.

I went to a history class that I really really liked. It's called "Histoire Sociale et Culturelle de la France au XIXe Sielce" (The Social and Cultural History of France during the 19th Century). I have to admit that it's pretty interesting.

Last week we learned about contraceptions during the time and women's rights. Apparently, "coitus interruptus" was the way to do it back then. Look how much smarter we are after 100 years+ . No, really.

After this one week of classes, it was winter break. You have to love the French :)

I can vouch for how good these truffles are too! I'm still waiting to pick one of the strawberry ones out of the box.

Are you even learning anything in school with all these breaks interspersed in the semester? Hehe...
