Heading to Aix_My First TGV Ride!
Monday. 01.21.2008.
The Paris orientation was officially over and the Wellesley group headed to Aix via TGV.
I took the KTX (it's the Korean TGV that French engineers helped build) last summer so I was incredibly curious to take the real French one.
KTX was a bit nicer but that's probably just because it's newer. lol.
I really enjoyed my train ride to Aix and so did PineappleeeBear!
Alex put her hat on PB so he would look more "French." I think it definitely worked because he looks super french and super cute! hehe.
Now he's been to 5+ countries in Asia, multiple cities in the states AND europe! Yay for PB :D lol
The view outside was beautiful! From Paris to Aix, it takes about 3 hours on the TGV, but it's MAD expensive! It costs something betwen 100-150 euros for a round-trip. Madness!
We arrived in Aix around 2 pm (I think) and I was really nervous to meet my host family.
I finally met my host dad and Anyuli (the other student living with the host family) and it was interesting. lol.
I was SUPER nervous, it wasn't even funny. Looking back, I was just being silly like I always am..hehehe..
I arrived at the host families house where I will be staying for the next 5 months. I was thinking a little french house, but it was actually an apartment complex--a lot like Korea.
My room was very pleasant to walk into! My host mom had PINK sheets for me, so that was super doooooper amazing! 1000000 extra points to her! lol
and the sheets smelled soooo nice, it made me miss my mommy at home... :( o wells. My host mom is ALOT like my mom, but I'll talk about that in detail some other time. lol.
So the first day was relaxing and nice.
I'm still not a huge fan of dog shit being EVERYWHERE in France, but I am definitely getting used to it. I just don't understand why people don't carry poop bags.
Anyway, Aix is an AMAZING city and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
I love my host family too.
They are super awesomes..(Trust me, it took a while for me to reach this point. lol.)
More on life in Aix will be coming soooon!

Yay for PB! Frenchy PB. He's been to more places than I have. And I didn't know you got pink sheets for your room. That's very you.
