What happened in Paris... Week 2

Week #2 was another action packed week! I had so much fun :D :D

* On Monday (1/14), YS and I decided to go check out the MAD soldes (=sales) that were going on in Paris (and France!). We went to the Lafayette near the Opera. I didn't end up getting anything because it was just way too expensive (even with the sales)... Euros=biatches.

It was super painful walking away..not gonna lie.. :(

The Opera was pretty nice. Some shots I took on my way to the mall:

After "looking" at stuff, YS and I headed back home.

The sky was incredible so I had to take a shot of it.. Isn't is super nice? Love it! Especially the pink-ness :D :D :D

Oh, and a picture of the Opera at night (again, me and my shaky hands..lol) :

* On Tuesday (1/15) we all (=Wellesley group) went to the Musee Rodin.

I was REALLY looking forward to visiting this particular museum (so of course, I was super psyched about it!) but it was not that great. *sigh* The weather was horrible, so we couldn't see the sculptures outside.

In addition to that, we had a (to say it nicely) not-so-great guide at the museum. She talked for like 2 hours on 2 or 3 sculptures. WTF?!?!?!

She was a tad bit condescending too (expecting us to know details about French history -_-;; not that that's wrong, but it was the way she said it and looked at us. whatever.) Naturally, she lost major points on my 'point system.'

I can't wait to go back to the Rodin Museum in the spring. I'm sure it will be super amazing and magical. I mean, how could it possibly get worse, you know? :/

* On Wednesday (1/16), YS and I went to check out the Opera again. She's never been inside, so we were going to check out the interior. Sadly, it was too close to closing time so we ended up not actually going in. But here are a few photos of this beautiful building!

In the evening, there was a Wellesley dinner at the Eiffel Tower. So for the (real) first time, I got to see the Eiffel Tower! Yay!!!

Here are 100000 pictures of the Eiffel Tower :D (I got a little carried away..not gonna lie..hehe)

We ate at Altitude 95 and the food was pretty good. I had lots of wine/alcohol too! lol.. The dessert was soaked in alcohol as well..but there's nothing wrong with that..... right? :P

Pictures of the restaurant, Catherine & Julia, Nathasha & me, and a view of Paris from our table.

There was a cute mini Eiffel Tower made out of snow too!

After dinner, we were thinking about going to the top level, but soon discovered that we couldn't..(It's only accessible on weekends during the winter.) It was cold too anyway.

Will def be back in the spring to go up to the top. I *have* to do all of the touristy things in Paris before I leave. for real.

* On Thursday (1/17), I finally went to Notre Dame. I lived literally 5 minutes away from the Notre Dame but was way too lazy to walk over (yeah yeah, story of my life). So I finally did after class, and it was pretty nice.

The weather was not that great (rainy and cold) so I didn't go up the tower. Again, I will be going up the tower in the spring for sure :D

Outside of the Notre Dame with a Christmas tree! (and bad weather) :

Inside of the Notre Dame:

After visiting Notre Dame, I headed over to Sainte-Chapelle.

Madame Gillain kept on saying that it is a hidden gem of Paris and that we had to go. It was across the street from Notre Dame next to the Conciergerie.

I wanted to go to the Conciergerie too, but it was 30 mins before closing time :(

So yeah, I will have to go over spring break in April. lol.

I have to say that Sainte-Chapelle is one of my favorite places in Paris. It was super cute and mind blowing. The stained glasses there were just...amazing. words cannot describe. (or I just can't describe it in words..hehe)

Really really want to go a million more times.

From outside:

From the BEAUTIFUL (and mad intense and super magical) inside:

At night, YS and I headed over to the Musee d'Orsay. It was a free night, so pourqoui pas?

Some pictures of meeee! hehe

It was a really nice walk to and from the Museum. Now that YS is back in Korea, I really really miss her and her company.

We spent so much time together in Paris and it was amazing to just catch up! We had amazing conversations about..everything. eeeeee :(

I really miss you!! Bogoshipda!!!

Some pictures from our walk around the Louvre area:

And a view of the cite :D

** Liz, are you happy now? I've been blogging ALL DAY. lol. More to come today! hehe
